Yenuguvanilanka Rural Educational Society is committed to
the social welfare of the people. Members of the
Yenuguvanilanka Rural Educational Society come from the
Yenuguvanilanka Village. Trustees represent the varied
background of the Indian society in terms of caste creed and
religion. What unites us is our commitment to “Reach the
Unreached”. Our aim is to teach and uplift the poorest of
the poor irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
President of YRES, Palaparthy Rajendra Kumar worked as a
literature evangelist for over 30 years under the Publishing
Department of the Seventh Day Adventist organization in
India. During his work in the states of Andhra Pradesh,
Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, he came across the
suffering and poor living conditions of the rural poor which
instilled in him the desire to do his bit for the upliftment
of this rural poor.
CRPF Commander Bandela Nathaniel is the Joint secretary of
YRES. He brings along his vast experience. He is a man with
vision and is instrumental in starting the ICSE Syllabus in
our school
YRES hopes to bring change in the rural scenario. Ignorance
and poverty are the reason for high rate of school dropouts.
This is where we need to look very seriously.
Girl Child
Girl child in the rural areas especially is a victim of
superstition, poverty, child marriage, and child labour and
denied equal rights for education. This goes against the
will of the helpless and ignorant girl child and is against
the child rights under the Constitution of India.
A study conducted by the Population Council of India and the
International Institute for Population science, Mumbai shows
that one-fifth of the girls marry before they attain 15
years of age and 49% marry before they attain 18 years of
age. In Bihar, 77% of girls marry before the age of 18 and
47% becomes pregnant before they attain 18 years.
YRES is committed to the protection of girl child against
the social evils and is devoted to the upliftment of these
girl children through education. We solicit your help in our
efforts to bring cheer on the faces of these hapless poor.
