Yenuguvanilanka Rural Educational Society (YRES) is a
nonprofit organization designed TO REACH THE UNREACHED by
showing light on unfortunate, underprivileged and orphan
children of rural areas through education and employment
irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
Urban India is growing rapidly while the rural India
continues to sleep in darkness. Majority of the Indian
population lives in villages. They are at the mercy of
nature and their biggest enemy is illiteracy and poverty.
According to the former President of India Dr. A. P. J.
Abdul Kalam, India will be transformed into a developed
nation by 2020. To achieve this goal, not only the
government but every citizen must share the responsibility.
It is our duty to look in to the needs of rural India which
is waiting eagerly for the upliftment of its children and
youth. Ignorance and poverty are mainly responsible for the
high rate of school dropouts in India. YRES is committed to
serve the community in overcoming these hurdles.
Hence with total commitment and determination, YRES has
started ST. MATTHEW’S SCHOOL (ICSE) on 12th June, 2008 in a
rented building in the remotest village –Yenuguvanilanka.
The English medium school received a good response with over
60 admissions in a week’s time. It was encouraging to notice
a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment on the faces of
parents as their children received quality English medium
education for the first time. Pray that the Almighty God
will bless us to retain the smile on the face of these rural
children always.
